Call to Action

Normally this space is used for my "Funny Picture of the day", but today I am doing something different. I am issuing a call to action. With millions of children living without the daily essentials that most of us rely upon, Operation Warm is providing the one item most requested by schools and social service agencies. Right now, right here in the USA, 12 million children are living in poverty.

Mission Statement:
Operation Warm works to enhance the self-esteem of disadvantaged children by providing new winter coats; thereby, promoting a positive self-image and fostering the conviction that says, “I am of value.”
Philosophy:
With millions of children living without the daily essentials that most of us rely on, Operation Warm is providing the one item most requested by schools and social service agencies – a new winter coat.
For some children, this coat may be the first item of new clothing they have ever received. The coat reduces some of the shame and embarrassment these kids feel about themselves and their unsolicited poverty. By keeping children warm, Operation Warm helps build self-confidence and improves self-esteem. When children feel good about themselves and fit in, they can arrive at school warm and ready to learn.

The results are in and they’re heartwarming.
The impact of the Operation Warm program is evident in the data collected from Social Service agencies and schools.
